About Me | Counsellor & Coach in Barry
After spending years working in insurance, I found myself drawn to helping people in a different way. Like many of my clients, I'd often felt like I didn't quite fit the conventional mould, and this personal experience has given me a deep understanding of what it's like to feel different or misunderstood.
When I discovered counselling training, something just clicked. I loved learning about how people tick, how we can heal, and how we can support each other through difficult times. What started as curiosity grew into a genuine passion. I now see helping people change and develop as an absolute privilege.
Over the past 16 years, I've worked with adults, children, and young people, with particular expertise in supporting neurodivergent clients. Through my volunteer work with Cruse Bereavement Care and Action for Children, I discovered how much I enjoyed working with young people and families facing challenges.
While I loved traditional counselling, I noticed that some of my neurodivergent clients needed something more practical and goal-focused. This led me to train in ADHD coaching, which perfectly complements my counselling work. Now I can offer both emotional support and practical strategies to help people move forward in their lives.
As a BACP and NCPS accredited counsellor, I adhere to a strict code of ethics and I also attend regular supervision and CPD sessions to ensure that I provide the best possible support for my clients. As an ADHD coach I am registered with the Association for Coaching.
