Initial Consultation
Getting started is simple. I'll respond within 24 hours and we'll arrange a free 30-minute phone conversation to see if we're a good fit. We'll talk about what you're looking for and I'll answer any questions you have. If I don't think I'm the right person to help, I'll do my best to point you in the right direction.
Counselling for Adults
I work from a person-centred approach, which simply means you're in the driving seat. You know yourself better than anyone else, and my job is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
I won't tell you what to do or try to fix you because you're not broken. Instead, I'll walk alongside you as you work through whatever's brought you here. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, or just feeling stuck, we'll work together to help you find your own way forward.
This isn't about having all the answers straight away. It's about giving you the space and support to discover what feels right for you.
Counselling for Young People
If your child or teenager is struggling with anxiety, friendship issues, family changes, school pressures, or behavioural challenges, you're not alone. Many young people find it hard to express what they're going through, and sometimes their feelings come out as anger, withdrawal, or acting out.
Working with children and teenagers requires a different approach, and I love the energy and honesty that young people bring to our sessions.
I'll always start by having a conversation with parents or carers to understand what's happening and what everyone's hoping to achieve. Depending on your child's age, the child may want the parent in the room with them, then move to individual sessions once your young person feels comfortable.
For younger children, I use lots of creative approaches, such as drawing, play, and creative arts, because sometimes it's easier to express feelings through colours and shapes than through words. Older children and teenagers often prefer to talk, and they might want to come to sessions on their own from the start.
One thing I'm very clear about from the first session is confidentiality. Our sessions create a safe space for your young person, and I'll only share feedback with you if they want me to. This helps build trust and shows them that their thoughts and feelings are respected.
ADHD Coaching
ADHD coaching is quite different from counselling. While counselling often involves exploring the past to understand the present, ADHD coaching is much more solution-focused and future-oriented. Coaching is about helping you to achieve your goals. The work focuses on clarifying your vision, maintaining motivation, exploring barriers and creating a plan.
We'll spend time building a strong relationship first because that's the foundation of everything else. Then we'll focus on practical strategies and tools that can help you work with your ADHD brain, not against it.
This might include developing better organisation systems, improving time management, building healthy habits, or finding ways to manage things like rejection sensitivity. The key difference is that we're not just talking about problems, we're actively working on solutions.
You'll have things to work on between sessions too. This isn't homework in the traditional sense, but practical strategies to try out in your daily life. We'll see what works, what doesn't, and adjust our approach accordingly.
It's about helping you understand how your brain works and giving you the tools to make life feel more manageable and less overwhelming.
Supervision
For my fellow counsellors and student counsellors, I offer clinical supervision using the same person-centred, relational approach that guides all my work.
Supervision isn't about being judged or tested – it's about having a supportive space to reflect on your practice, discuss challenging cases, and continue growing in confidence as a therapist.
Whether you're just starting out or you're an experienced practitioner, we all benefit from having someone to bounce ideas off and help us think through the complexities of this work. Supervision helps ensure you're providing the best possible support to your clients while also looking after your own wellbeing.
Ready to Take the Next Step?
Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, or professional supervision, I'm here to help you move forward with confidence. Reaching out doesn't commit you to anything except a conversation. Sometimes that's all it takes to start feeling more hopeful.
